According to data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), cases of COVID-19 have spiked worldwide since September, particularly in Europe which represents more than 35% of world merchandise trade. Preliminary merchandise trade values also indicate slower trade growth in October compared to September.
